Networks, backups and the day-to-day of running IT.
Our writing on managed IT, networks and backups is built on twenty years of working with NSW small businesses. We write about the problems we see every week: Wi-Fi networks designed for home offices, backups that have never been restored, and servers in storerooms that should have been retired years ago.
We do not write about "digital transformation". We write about the printer that fails on Monday morning, the mailbox that corrupts when the laptop joins a new network, and the NBN circuit that degrades during peak trading. These are the problems that consume a practice manager's week, and they are the problems we fix for a living.
The articles in this section cover common Wi-Fi design mistakes in small offices, the backup strategies you should test before you need them, and the day-to-day reality of running IT on a monthly plan rather than on break-fix.
Coverage is not the same as capacity. The two are designed differently, and most offices are designed for coverage alone.
